Commercial pet rat food which contains pellets will provide your rat with a healthy balanced diet and helps avoid selective feeding. Avoid giving your rat commercial food which is designed for other small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters etc, as although these are pellets and a food source, they may not contain the dietary needs required for a rat.
