Affiliate disclosure
PetComparison earns commissions from affiliate links. This page explains exactly how and where, in compliance with the FTC's Endorsement Guides and the CFPB's guidance on financial-product comparison sites (which we follow even though we're not a financial site).
How we make money
When you click a "Buy" or "View on Amazon" link on this site and complete a purchase, we may receive a commission from the retailer or brand. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you went directly to the retailer.
Our primary affiliate networks are:
- Amazon Associates — most product "Buy on Amazon" buttons
- Chewy via Sovrn — Chewy product links
- Impact Radius — direct brand programs (e.g., The Farmer's Dog, Ollie)
- ShareASale, CJ Affiliate — smaller direct-to-consumer brand programs
What does NOT happen
Commissions do not influence rankings. We do not accept payment for placement, favorable rankings, or removal of negative ratings. We do not have "sponsored" content or paid editorial. We do not maintain "partnerships" with any brand — every recommendation is the result of our published methodology.
How to identify affiliate links
Every link on this site that leads to a retailer or product page that may pay us a commission is an affiliate link. We label individual product CTAs ("Buy on Amazon", "View on Chewy") clearly, and the footer of every page on the site carries a compensation disclosure.
If a brand changes our mind
If new information emerges about a brand — new recall, change in ingredients, manufacturing change — our rankings change to reflect it. A brand we recommend today might be downgraded tomorrow if the data warrants it. The commission rate at any retailer has no bearing on that decision.
